Ibn al-Haytham

Ibn al-Haytham, an 11th-century scholar working across the Abbasid world, made foundational contributions to optics and is widely regarded as a pioneer of the scientific method, insisting that theories be tested against systematic experimentation rather than accepted on authority alone. His Book of Optics reshaped the understanding of light and vision and influenced later European scientists including Kepler and Newton.
