What we collect

• Account details — if you create an account, we store your email address and display name.
• Submissions — anything you send through the mosque, halal, event or correction forms, plus the contact email you choose to give.
• Settings on your device — your chosen location, prayer calculation method and tool preferences are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.

What we don't do

We do not run advertising, we do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use third-party behavioural tracking or profiling. Prayer times and the qibla direction are calculated in your browser — your precise location is never sent to us if you use device geolocation.

How we use your information

Account details identify you when you sign in. Submissions are read by our moderators so listings can be checked before they are published, and we may reply to the email you provide to confirm details. Aggregate counts (such as how many times an article has been read) contain no personal information.

Where your data is stored

Site content and accounts are held in a managed cloud database with access restricted to the site's administrators. Maps are rendered from OpenStreetMap and fonts are served by Google Fonts; these providers receive your IP address as part of serving those files.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete your account and any submission linked to you. Clearing your browser storage removes every setting the site has kept on your device. To make a request, use the contact form.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use islam.mu after a change means you accept the updated policy.
